Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories and the use of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won numerous grants, and has been honored with numerous international and national awards. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around all over the world on policy and research relating to child victims of the law by the system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
